Sign-in address
This is what you sign in with and where your codes are sent, so changing it needs two steps. We email your current address to check it is really you, then the new one to confirm it works. Nothing changes until both are done.
Passkeys
A passkey signs you in with Face ID, a fingerprint or your device PIN instead of waiting for a code by email. It cannot be phished, reused on another site, or read off a sticky note.
This browser cannot use passkeys. Try a recent Chrome, Safari or Edge — signing in with an emailed code works everywhere regardless.
A passkey only lives on the device you add it to, so add one per device. An emailed code keeps working everywhere, which is what you will use on a new phone.
Prompts on this device
This preference is kept in this browser, not on your account. A passkey belongs to one device, so a reminder you dismissed on a laptop should not also silence it on a phone that has no passkey yet.
